I can't find the exact quote at the moment, but it went something like "Saying your part of the world is on fire and it is not our concern is like being in a dinghy on the ocean and saying to one's fellow seafarers that the leak at their end of the boat is not their problem."

In other news, the Galapagos hotel favoured by Gareth Morgan has been destroyed by the Sendai Tsunami.
