It's
not really news that one of the rock solid promises John Key intends to keep is getting into budget surplus by 2015 (like the rock solid promise not to dick with Super, and unlike the soft, squishy promises like not raising GST). Then again, Goodbye Pork Pie isn't really news either, yet here it is in a witty juxtaposition.
"We're taking this car to Invercargill!"
"We're taking this budget into surplus!"
The national vehicle might be rooted by the attempt, and we'll be left picking up the pieces for years to come, but at least John Key gets his end away.
